Growing occurences of violence and militaristic intervention is a new state of being in the world and America today. As the media focuses our attention on terrorism – and the growing violent acts experienced in war and in civilian society – it is important for us to consider where this violence originates from. Revealing oppression and inequality, speaking truth to power, and pledging to be nonviolent activists – is one way to change the growing trend. To do this requires deep introspection and an awareness of the growing global crises.
